Rental Terms

All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines key terms, conditions, insurance provisions, associated charges, and your obligations regarding the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Renting a vehicle requires:

• To rent a vehicle from Hyde, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. A valid full driving license, appropriate for the selected category, is required, along with proof of identification and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any additional conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Booking and Payment Process

• You can make bookings on our website, via phone, or by visiting our Dartford location. To confirm your reservation, a deposit may be necessary. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.

Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

• At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same state as when it was collected, aside from normal wear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges will be applied as necessary. Please return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had at pickup; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be accountable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.

Insurance and Responsibility

• All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find comprehensive details and excess amounts in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is wise to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have opted for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, irrespective of insurance provisions.

6. Changes and Cancellations

Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.

7. Prohibited Activities

Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle

• The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Subletting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized individuals to drive is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used as intended, without exceeding passenger or weight limits, and must remain within the designated geographical boundaries unless prior approval is obtained.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Restrictions

To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Hyde Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

Applicable Law

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. All disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.

10. Updates to Terms

Hyde reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
